A Breakthrough Moment?
Well hopefully I had a minor breakthrough today. . .
Here is the text of an email that I just sent out in response to a communication from a woman of spirit who has a place in the religious establishment. I have deleted her name for various reasons.

Dear XXXX,
Thank you for responding to my email. I agree with what you have written below. Unfortunately my initial efforts have fallen on many deaf ears, indeed the usual passive suppression by clergy etc. who simply fail or refuse to lift a finger to help spread the news when all it would take is making photo copies and distributing them, copying and pasting my WDC chain-letter into their email lists, and agreeing to do *something* themselves on March 29th. WDC does not have the momentum that it could have, and should have. . . by now if church and indeed secular authorities of various kinds had been even minimally helpful. Having said that I will push ahead at the grassroots level and promote some disorganized religion as it were. I will continue to approach "establishment" organizations but will not waste too much time on them.
I agree that it would really be best to have a year or two to organize the first WDC, and it is partly my fault that it did not begin earlier. . . however I really did not have the "brainstorm" to go that route until late in 2005 even though I had the seeds of the idea for WDC in my mind for some years now. World Day of Conscience actually evolved out of Creation Day which always had an element of "global conscience" embedded in it. In fact one of my earliest proposals for Creation Day was that it could be a day where "people are praying for each other rather than preying upon each other". . . WDC in a nutshell I think.

I will say however that there is reasonable momentum at the "grassroots" level and I do expect that there will at least be some modest observances of World Day of Conscience here and there in the world on March 29th. There is still time to create a small miracle if enough people decide to devote time and energy to supporting, promoting, and observing the first World Day of Conscience on March 29th. The next date for World Day of Conscience will be August 1st, 2008. It will provide over two years to organize and promote WDC globally and will be ideally situated in both time and space to place a strong emphasis on prevention of nuclear war and dealing with global warming.

Any help that you can provide to ensure that the first observance of World Day of Conscience is at least a modest success on March 29th would be most appreciated. Please spread the news to as many other people that you know are likely to be open to it and ask them to do the same.

Just copy and paste it and send it out to the world.

Please get back to me ASAHP to let me know what you can and will do to help the first observance of World Day of Conscience be as global and successful as`possible. Oh yes I am a male Robin myself but I really do be believe that women need to be a major driving force behind World Day of Conscience and should be at least 50 percent of the voice of WDC.
Here is some inspiration for you and all other women in the world -

Dear Mr. Edgar,
Thanks for writing. It is very heartening to see someone trying to light the spark of universal conscience in a world now so confused in it.
I need to tell you, however, that I have nothing whatsoever to do with seeing that anything is published in the XXXXXXXXXXXX. I am not the editor; I am simply a columnist.
My best advice is that you send this material to the Editor in chief, XXXX XXXXXXX. I'm sure his email address is in the paper or in the online edition at XXXXXXXXXXX.org.
I also need to say that an undertaking of this scope usually needs the prior endorsement of a well-connected national or international organization to promote it.
Finally, I think that this could well take over a year to organize through major organizational channels and will take a great deal of work on your part that far exceeds sending out an email. A group like XXXXXXXXXX might be interested but I have no particular reason whatsoever to know that.
I do, however, wish you the best in this endeavor. Never has the world needed conscience more.
XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX
